Time flew past so quickly that I am now already in my final year of studies
at Hai Inn Temple. Looking back at all the years I have spent at the Temple, I
realised that I have learnt a lot and opened my eyes. The many activities that
were conducted throughout the course of my years spent at this Temple left
me with many unforgettable memories.

One of the activities that left a deep impression on me was the annual
Hai Inn Camp. The Camp had themes revolving around values such as
gratitude and empathy, and these values teach us to be a better person.
Through games and interesting activities, the values are linked back to our
daily lives. The activity which was most memorable to me, was one which
required us to act as a pregnant person, while making our way across an area
full of landmines. Relating to the theme of empathy, this game has allowed
me to experience first-hand, the struggles of pregnant ladies. It was through
this activity that I was able to put myself into their shoes.

Another aspect of studying at Hai Inn Temple, which left a deep
impression on me, are the special events that I get to participate in. One of
them is the annual Sangha Day when we pay homage to the Sangha. At this
event, the student population would make offerings to the Venerables in the
Temple. Other than the initial offerings, we would also visit other Temples to
interact and give offerings to the Venerables there. This is something I would
never have experienced, if not for the opportunities provided by Hai Inn
Temple. It is also through these events that I have come to learn more about
Buddhism, its traditions and culture.

After these years, I
have truly learnt a lot and
created lots of fond
memories, and made lots
of friends at this Temple. If
I were to be given the
chance to come to Hai Inn
Temple again, I would
certainly do it again.
